H.L. We spent this year's summer holiday in Iceland and so I collected some indie, rock, pop and soft metal albums for the three week round trip. EMMROSE's soft indie pop is actually far below my average level of heaviness in music but the melancholic songs come obviously from the heart and are indeed full of soul. The most frequently played favourites on our "Best of Iceland Holiday Playlist" are "Electric Nights" and "The Feeling's Mutual". Favorite track: Electric Nights.

The full album, including previously unreleased tracks such as Hannah, Waiting for Nowhere, Afterlife, Brave New World, Thorns, The Gallows, and The Feeling's Mutual.

In the title track "Thorns", every verse is addressed to a different person and publicly addresses the resentment she once held against them, so pay close attention to those lyrics-- there’s a unique story to be told, each one more palpable than the last. The verses are sung sweetly over a gorgeous piano, along with viola accompaniment by 15-year-old viola player Andrew Jensen.

"I wrote this song to finally move on from so many people. It was really necessary for me to write. Holding a grudge holds me back from making closer connections to people,” she writes. "I finally feel like I've begun healing. I’m not afraid anymore to meet new people and to make friends. I don’t feel like my past is holding me down anymore. Where thorns were, now grow roses."
